Planning Commission Announces Completion of Chester Valley Trail West Study
The Chester County Planning Commission is pleased to announce the completion of the Chester Valley Trail West Feasibility Study/Master Plan. The plan will extend the popular trail westward across the county through the following municipalities: Downingtown, Caln, Coatesville, Valley, Parkesburg, Sadsbury, West Sadsbury, and Atglen. Carol Stauffer Named Assistant Director of Chester County Planning Commission
The Chester County Planning Commission is pleased to announce that longtime staff member Carol Stauffer has been promoted to the agency’s assistant director.
Carol has worked at the Planning Commission for 28 years in a variety roles, including senior community planner and Planning Services Division director. Most recently, she served as the department’s Infrastructure and Plan Review Division director and oversaw plan reviews, environmental reviews, data and demographic activities, and pipeline initiatives (including management of the Pipeline Information Center). TMACC Executive Director Tim Phelps Attends Planning Commission Board Meeting
Tim Phelps, the executive director of the Transportation Management Association of Chester County (TMACC), attended the Chester County Planning Commission’s board meeting on Jan. 9 and discussed the role of his agency and its partnership with the county.
TMACC was founded in May 1992 as the Chester Valley Transportation Management Association (TMA). It is one of seven TMAs in the Delaware Valley and is governed by a board of directors. Continue Reading →

Longtime Planning Commission Board Member Judy DiFilippo Retires
Retiring Chester County Planning Commission board member Judy DiFilippo has roots deep in planning and serving others.
A Bangor, Maine native, Judy moved to Montgomery County in 1966 to study nursing at Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing. After graduation, Judy worked in the Lankenau Hospital Surgical Intensive Care Unit until her daughter, Rena, was born.
“Now, when people find out about my background in nursing, I say I am still taking care of people – just in a different way,” Judy said with a smile. Continue Reading →
