Kristin S. Camp, a West Whiteland resident, is one of the Landscapes3 Steering Committee members. Camp has worked with the law firm of Buckley, Brion, McGuire & Morris in West Chester since 1996 when she moved from Pittsburgh to Chester County to start her law practice.
Camp will bring legal expertise to the steering committee. For over 20 years, she has practiced municipal, land use and zoning law representing municipalities, zoning hearing boards, planning commissions, municipal authorities, and private clients with land use and development projects. She also has served as special counsel to Chester County on various land use and development matters, including the Chester Valley Trail, Schuylkill River Trail, and future expansion of the Rim Trail near Hibernia County Park.
“I am honored to serve on the steering committee for Landscapes3 and to share my experience and knowledge concerning development of municipal comprehensive plans,” Camp said. “Having lived in Chester County for the past 20 years, I have seen firsthand the positive impact of having a comprehensive plan which guides growth, development, and preservation. The obvious success of Landscapes and Landscapes2 is evident in the explosive population growth which has occurred over the past 20 years in Chester County. In order to prevent negative impacts from unmanaged growth and sprawl and to provide essential services that are needed with increased population, it is essential that the county update and implement Landscapes3. I look forward to providing my expertise and insight into the development of a comprehensive plan that balances competing goals of economic development and growth with preservation and protection of vital natural resources and open land.”
