Planning Commission Welcomes Summer Intern

The Chester County Planning Commission is excited to welcome Austin Kerley as the new full-time intern for the summer!

Austin is a native of Chester County, growing up and residing in Chester Springs with his family. He is currently attending Bloomsburg University, where he is studying Environmental Science with a focus in Geography and Planning.

Over the next three months, Austin will be working on projects mostly within the Planning Commission’s Environment and Infrastructure Division, but will assist in other areas as well, such as GIS. He hopes to learn as much as he can in the Planning and GIS fields, and has already gotten off to a great start.

Chester County Environmental and Energy Advisory Board Holds First Board Meeting

The Chester County Environmental and Energy Advisory Board held their first meeting, via Zoom, on Thursday, May 28, 2020. It was a productive and exciting kick-off meeting, with all 21 newly-appointed Board members on the call.

Commissioners’ Chair Marian Moskowitz began the meeting by welcoming everyone to the group. “It’s great to see everyone here for the first real meeting,” said Moskowitz. “I’m anxious to hear the conversation and listen to all of the great ideas.”

“Restore Chester County” Provides Reopening Guidelines and Resources for Businesses and Residents

Chester County will be moving to green on June 26, and in preparation for the county’s phased reopening, the Chester County Commissioners and the Chester County COVID-19 Business Task Force have launched an online toolkit offering guidelines that have been specifically designed for Chester County’s 15,000+ businesses and 525,000 residents. The Chester County Planning Commission has played a vital role in assisting with these efforts as well.

RestoreChesterCounty.org provides direct access to guidelines that are broken down by 20 different business and organization sectors here in Chester County,” explained Chester County Commissioners’ Chair, Marian Moskowitz.

Planning Commission Office Status

As the County moves into the yellow phase, the Planning Commission office will be open Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm, starting on Friday, June 5 for mandatory services. Please call 610-344-6285 or email the office at ccplanning@chesco.org to make an appointment for plan endorsements or plan submissions before you come in. Please note, temperature screening and security procedures will be in place for anyone entering the Government Services Building.

Staff is primarily working from home and will continue to provide services and answer questions.
