The Chester County Planning Commission released its 2018 Annual Report, which provides a recap of projects and accomplishments. Notably, the report highlights the steps the agency took to complete Landscapes3, Chester County’s new comprehensive plan. The plan will serve as a planning road map for the next 10 years, and it seeks to balance preservation and growth across the county’s landscapes through six goal areas: Preserve, Protect, Appreciate, Live, Prosper, and Connect. Landscapes3 recommits to core principles that will position the county and its municipalities for success, including resource preservation, revitalized urban and suburban centers, housing diversity, transportation choices, collaboration, and resiliency. The annual report highlights examples of Landscapes3 implementation and upcoming goals toward further implementation of the plan. View the report.

She thought about being a park ranger but eventually changed her mind and pursued a planning career instead. This one-stop resource provides descriptions and application deadlines for a large number of grants, including community development, community planning, historic preservation, open space and the environment, transportation, and utilities and infrastructure. The Chester County Planning Commission is pleased to announce that longtime staff member Carol Stauffer has been promoted to the agency’s assistant director.
Carol has worked at the Planning Commission for 28 years in a variety roles, including senior community planner and Planning Services Division director. Most recently, she served as the department’s Infrastructure and Plan Review Division director and oversaw plan reviews, environmental reviews, data and demographic activities, and pipeline initiatives (including management of the Pipeline Information Center). The Chester County Planning Commission will conduct its monthly meeting at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 13. The meeting will take place in the Planning Commission offices of Suite 270, Government Services Center, 601 Westtown Road, West Chester, Pa. Guy Ciarrocchi, the president and chief executive officer of the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry who served on the Landscapes3 Steering Committee, will give a presentation to the board. Tim Phelps, the executive director of the Transportation Management Association of Chester County (TMACC), attended the Chester County Planning Commission’s board meeting on Jan. 9 and discussed the role of his agency and its partnership with the county.
TMACC was founded in May 1992 as the Chester Valley Transportation Management Association (TMA). It is one of seven TMAs in the Delaware Valley and is governed by a board of directors. Continue Reading →
